Sports Massage — speed up recovery and boost performance

Sports Massage isn't meant only for elite athletes — it's also a great fit for amateur athletes, people with an active lifestyle, and anyone who feels muscle tension after training or physical work.

Sports Massage is aimed specifically at those who train regularly or do physical work and want to keep their body in better working condition. The massage helps relax tight muscles, speed up recovery after a tough training session, and prevent injuries.

Why choose Sports Massage at Osso Massage?

Our massage therapists have experience working with athletes and active clients. Every session is personalised and adapted to your training load, goals, and physical condition.

Sports Massage is more intense and deeper than Classical Massage. When needed, stretches, firmer pressure, and targeted techniques are used to reach exactly the areas that need recovery. For specific issues, we use Trigger Point Release technique — this helps release painful tension spots, restore normal metabolism, and relieve radiating pain.

Note! When coming for a recovery Sports Massage, it’s not recommended to train the same day. Before competitions, we recommend a massage 3–5 days before the event.

FAQ – Frequently asked questions

  • People who train regularly — gym, running, cycling, swimming, or other sports put strain on the muscles. Sports Massage
speeds up recovery and keeps the body training-ready.
  • People doing physical work — builders, warehouse workers, chefs — the body gets tired just like an athlete’s does. Sports Massage
relieves the chronic tension caused by muscular strain.
  • Those recovering from injury — if you’ve overcome a muscle tear, sprain, or other sports injury, Sports Massage
helps speed up recovery and prevent repeat injuries.
  • Amateur athletes who feel overly stiff after training — when muscles are tight and recovery is
slow, Sports Massage is exactly the right choice.
  • Competitive athletes — both for preparation (3–5 days before) and recovery after exertion.

Yes, definitely! Sports Massage is suitable for anyone who is physically active, does physical work, or feels chronic muscle tension. You don’t need to be a professional athlete — it’s enough that your body needs deeper muscle work and recovery.

Sports Massage is more intense than Classical Massage, but there shouldn’t be excessive pain (only the sweet kind of pain). The therapist uses firmer pressure only when needed and within your tolerance. During the session, you can always say if the intensity doesn’t feel right — the therapist will adjust immediately.

The best time depends on your goal. Before training, massage helps activate the muscles; after training, it speeds up recovery. When preparing for competitions, we recommend a massage 3–5 days before the event. Note! When coming for a recovery Sports Massage, it’s not recommended to train the same day.

For people who train actively, we recommend 2–4 times a month. For casual exercisers, 1–2 times a month is enough. After your first session, the therapist will give you a personal recommendation based on your training load.

45 minutes — good if you want to focus on one specific area, such as the legs after running or the shoulders after
strength training.

60 minutes — covers most of the body and is the best choice for a general recovery session after training.

90 minutes — a thorough session for when tension has built up in several areas or recovery has been slow. The therapist
also has time to work more thoroughly on trigger points.
